Deer Lady finished and one more...

I'm really happy with the Deer Lady. She is very beautiful and vibrant.

Also in the meantime I had started on the Howling spirit. Also finished in time for the show at the Frog Peak cafe. The Raven Goddess, the Deer Lady and the Howling Spirit are three paintings of a serie of 12 on animal spirits.

Happy spring!

roller-coaster and new venture...

Hmmm, Deer Lady is hiding her face from me. She is taking a while to reveal herself to me. Maybe because my energies fly into too many directions at the same time. Time to focus more and feel inspired. It is sometimes difficult when everything around is in a whirlwind. I think good times are coming though. Promises of spring in the air... Here's a little preview of Deer Lady

I'm also excited about a new venture I'm about to embark on. It will take some time to concretize but will be fun and really worth the efforts...
CREATIVITY! is my word of the day

drawing inspirations

So much is going on. Sometimes it's really hard to focus on the path you want to follow when emotional situations arise. Nevertheless, the inspiration is there and I have spent a little time drawing and planning the next few paintings. Here's a preview of the Deer Lady in it's early stage as well as other inspired drawings. I often find the inspiration from the people I meet, the face, shapes, curves, contrasts. the human body is so beautiful. It is truly fascinating.

I also have had lots of fun painting greeting cards. They are all hand painted ink original cards on 50% tree-friendly sugar cane and 50% post-consumer fiber waste. The cards are available to purchase at the Frog Peak Cafe in Crescent Valley or in my new store at soviaart.bigcartel.com. Where you can buy a package of eight cards, as well as prints of original paintings. Another idea I will pursue in the near future is starting a tattoo apprenticeship. The idea came from starting to design my friend's tattoos and my own. The feeling grew as I wished I would be able to put my designs on the person myself and with encouragement from people around me, I felt it would be a great complement to my career as a painter/graphic designer. To be continued...

First of a serie

This year has been hands down the most challenging and the most inspiring. So much has happened. I am learning to let go and focus on kindness, love, beauty and finding inspiration everywhere. I have felt a strong connection to birds of all kind this year. Crows and owls mainly, for their personality and mystery. My latest painting reflects the mystery and wonder of the crow spirit. It is the first of a serie on animal spirits. All the paintings in this serie will show a connection between human and nature. Mystical & fantastic.

Next will be the Deer Woman. Haunting. Alluring. Graceful. The creative process has begun and I will post very soon her evolution.
